St. Martin of Tours

Our first blessing on our Grateful Tree (Skipper said it with "food and being able to play").

Deciding on what act of charity to do this holiday season: collecting food/household items for People in Need and adopting a child from our parish's Giving Tree.

Horseshoe-shaped Almond Spice Cookies (recipe here).

Sacred Heart Homeschoolers Lantern Walk and Social Gathering.

PJ "gifts" to the kids to keep them warm this winter.

And a prayer, most appropriate on this Veteran's Day, a day we remember those who have defended our country and given their time, their service, and for some, their life, for us.

Dear well-beloved St. Martin, you were first a soldier like your father. Converted to the Church, you became a soldier of Christ, a priest and then a Bishop of Tours. Lover of the poor, and model for pagans and Christians alike, protect our soldiers at all times. Make them strong, just, and charitable, always aiming at establishing peace on earth. Amen.
